During the Eurpean annual conference of Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial held in Como (Italy) from the 14th - 17th July 2015 FREEWAT project was presented by our collegue Massimiliano Cannata from IST-SUPSI (Switzerland) cooperating with the FREEWAT Consortium.
The Conference (2015) aimed to bring together FOSS4G users and developers and foster closer interactions with and among European communities in order to share ideas for improving geodata, software and applications openness.
The Conference that saw more than 400 participants, 6 tracks and 100 talks was a great opportunity to present FREEWAT and to discuss water resource management needs.
The Conference motto "Open Innovation for Europe" perfectly fits with the topic of the EU call "WATER INNOVATION: BOOSTING ITS VALUE FOR EUROPE" and with the FREEWAT approach of integrating open source and public domain GIS with modelling environment for the simulation of water quantity and quality in surface water and groundwater.
