For seven days, the City of Porto, in Portugal, will become the European capital of water and innovation. A set of three major events will gather over 1000 participants, including decision makers and technicians of utilities, political leaders, regulators, industry and agriculture representatives, investigators, tech companies, startups, SME’s and investors.
On September the 30th 2016 in Paris at the UNESCO premises, jointly organised by UNESCO and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (FREEWAT Coordinator) in the occasion of the FREEWAT project mid-term meeting, it was held the workshop “Fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work (SDG#8) through ICT job creation tools for ensuring water security (SDG#6)”

The theme for this year's MODFLOW and More conference is "Modeling for Sustainability and Adaptation". With recent challenges imposed by an ever changing climate and urban population growth, how can we adapt our modeling tools accordingly? Are our models of sustainable water yield accurate enough to effectively solve the problems we're faced with as groundwater hydrologists? The European Innovation Partnership announces that the 4th EIP Water conference is to be held in Porto, Portugal in September of 2017. This annual conference brings together policymakers, national and local government, operators, scientists, researchers, technology companies, financiers, start-ups, SMEs, utilities, city planners, industrial producers, journalists and EU institutions at the European, national and regional level to break down the barriers to innovation in the sector.
